lol, just genetics. ur gonna have to isolate that problem with cardio and situps and stuff. cycling makes u loose weight but it doesnt change ur genetical shape, that is up for u to do in the gym . so best of luck and never give up.

Good info:

Clean Eating (http://forums.menshealth.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/295109121/m/721103321)

Loose Fat (http://forums.menshealth.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/295109121/m/474106321)

and just be happy all you have to moan about is some love handles. I am 6'2", 280lbs (after loosing 85lbs in the last 1.5 years), and I still have big swining breasts and a lot of "insuration" around my gut. I follow a lot of the things in those two links, and I am hungry all the time. I workout everyday, bike everywhere, and this year alone I have been hit twice by cars, been run off the road by an old lady going the wrong way in the bike lane, and I have bounced off the road twice after breaking various bike parts by cranking too hard.

Hope you feel better about your situation. And seriously, read those links.

Ok ok guys, fine, I'm not chubby. :p
I'm just picky, I mean, of all the stuff I do, I was hoping to trim a little more body fat. If I want to be in shape to compete in an ironman, I better shape up...

slvoid - you know how skinny i am right? well, even at my 5'11 and 145 lbs, i have a tad of a stomach. it's weird, i guess cycling doesn't lend itself well to the stomach area. i see tons of cyclists (many who are really good) sporting guts.

you gotta hit the weights at the gym. Focus on chin-ups, puch ups on stabity balls and shoulder work, it's worth looking into hiring a good personal trainer to design a weight training program. the best way to lose the love handles is to increase your leasn muscle mass. Eat at least one gram of protein per pound of body weight.

I can do reps of 20-25 chin ups and pullups. But I don't think it's working anything below my chest and shoulders. I'm poor, so that rules out the personal trainer. I guess I'll have to live with this chi.
It's no big deal, I was just feeling myself up after my ride this morning and felt that my love handles were larger than I thought they would be.

Make yourself puke after every meal. Works for the super models.

Hey that's great. Now just keep it off. One winter 3 years ago, I mutated into a human caricature of a potato. I was 5'8" and tipped the scales at 236 +/- an ounce or two. When I was able to stand I couldn't see my feet fer Chris sakes, never mind the other equipment lost in the folds. I spent the most miserable Spring I have ever endured bringing my weight down to less comical proportions. I will never let myself get that big again. While I am not totally happy at 190, it sure beats the slug I used to be.

Just grab them love handles. You can mount a clutch on the left side and use the right as a throttle. LOL

I am 5'8" and weigh 138, but there is some belly developing. It seems to come with age.

i ride that much harder the next day. :p

I finally DID get her to admit the other night that she likes my legs.

While you're at the chin up bar, keep yourself suspended without allowing your legs to touch the floor. Keep your knees bent and your back as straight as is comfortable. Slowly bring (for instance) your right knee up like you're trying to touch it to your left shoulder. Then do the same with your left knee to your right shoulder. Depending on your current fitness level, do about 2-3 sets with 10-12 reps each. You'll want to die, but it will carve your stomach, sides, and lower back.

You mean like, pretend I'm jogging while I'm suspended?

Orikal

You mean like, pretend I'm jogging while I'm suspended?

Kind of, but much slower and more exaggerated.

You're hanging there, your legs are bent and your knees are at a 90 degree angle. Keep one leg below you while you bring the opposite leg up, almost like you're trying to touch your knee to you chin. But instead move it sideways like you're attempting to touch the opposite shoulder. If you're flexible enough, you can actually touch your knee to the opposite shoulder and hold it for a second. I'll try to find some images.

Edit: http://www.mensjournal.com/healthFitness/0507/workout_abs.html - Not exactly what I was looking for, but it gets the point across. Go about half way down to the "guts" section. Picture the same pose but with only one leg raised, and the knee extended like you're trying to touch the opposite shoulder. No ab straps needed.

I'm 5 7' and come in at 160. I used to weight 172 and dropped 12 pounds this year with a cheap exercise bicycle from Sears. I stopped after a while because it was really getting to me. Always feeling tired in the morning plus the seat is a nightmare. If it brakes, I'm spending money on a much better machine because I believe cardio really works. I get a better workout on that thing than I do on a bicycle unless it's a whole day affair. I was on the machine last night and I could only do about half an hour. I was eshausted. In fact, on my best days, I'll only be able to do an hour on an exercise bike. My whole body was in a complete sweat like I just took a bath!

I have to say the first ten pounds took about 3 months but I've come to a road stop and any additional weight loss will have to come from diet. That's the key but I've yet to come up with an effective diet to lose any additional weight. Weight lifting is fine but will only work if you can develope a sweat plus it's hard on your joints.
