I bought a frame on ebay a couple of months ago, and now I'm refinishing it. It's my first lugged track frame, and I'd like to find out what kind it is so I can try to find decals for it.
1) The original finish was red (it's now stripped and primed, waiting on the results of this inquiry), with a Columbus Cromor decal on the seat tube, near the top. The Columbus decal was the only indentifying mark on the frame.
2) The track ends and the seatstay caps looked exactly like those on a DeBernardi, and the (less than durable) red finish and Cromor decal initially made me think that's what it might be.
3) The seatpost size is 27.0, not 27.2, there are no cutouts in the lugs, and the brake bridge has an arched-looking shape.
The bridge looks like the one on this Masi except mine is undrilled:

The frame came with a red unoriginal aluminum fork and an older Miche bottom bracket (non-Primato). Italian threaded shell. The shell has no stamp other than a "54" (the size). No serial number anywhere on the frame.
I sent the frame to Gene Spicer to have him repair a small ding that the seller did not say anything about, and he said it might be a DeBernardi. He's sure it's an Italian make. The finish, the Cromor decal, the stays and the track end shape all point to DeBernardi. But the 27.0 post size, the lack of lug cutouts and the shaped, undrilled brake bridge make me unsure.
I know the current rage is to remove all decals, but this is probably the best frame I'll own for quite some time and I don't live in an area where I have to worry about theft due to bike brand, so I want proper decals. If there's anyone who can help me ID this frame or even give me some other builders who use Cromor tubing, a shaped bridge and the DeBernardi shaped stays and ends, I'd be eternally grateful. Sorry I have no photos of my own to provide. I'll try to find some images of the DeBe ends (there are two types, IIRC) and stays so you all will know what I'm talking about.
