Foo - Its time for a rant

I hate invader zim. God I really hate it. All it has is a bunch of freaking IDIOTS running around. There are three main characters. Some kid who looks stoned off his ass and is incredibly paranoid. His freaky lady freind who is always pissed and thinks she is SOOO tough. And of course, the most ******** of the three. The alien, who talks like a freaking idiot, tries to take over earth, fails horrendesly, says he'll be back and looks like an idiot. My god and people love this show! What is wrong with americas youth?! AM I THE ONLY SANE TEENAGER?!?!

Zim is supposed to be egregiously ineffectual. That's why he was sent to earth...he sucked so bad as a space invader that the people of his home planet wanted to send him someplace completely useless to get him out of their hair!

It's definitely a Vasquez theme. He had totally incompetent space aliens in a couple of his different comic book stories.

I like the show, but I'm easily amused and also generally a fan of Vasquez's and Dirge's work.

Zim is incredibly odd. I can't believe anybody who read Squee or JtHM or Filler Bunny would put him writing a kid's show. The show's got low production values and I think the writing staff is pretty thin, and if I remember right Vasquez has a Douglas Adams approach to deadlines: he enjoys the whooshing sound they make as they go by, which doesn't really work in a small-staff TV series.

The plots are horrible. There are some great visual gags, though. Watch a few more episodes and see if it doesn't grow on you, but don't judge Vasquez based on this series. Squee is good.

Well, I had never even heard of Invader Zim before reading this post. So I looked it up and TV Guide and decided to give it a watch. I have to admit, that I think it's GREAT --- very clever and always makes me laugh. You should give it another shot MetalHead90. Who knows, maybe sooner or later the alien WILL take over Earth.

I can't wait to watch it again to see what happens!!
