I bought a Diamond Back Sorento this last saturday.

when i checked out the specs on my bike,(www.diamondback.com) it says the headset is OS. It looks like it is 1 1/8 but
the headset is threaded. I will need to be replacing the stock forks because the shocks are getting
not very shocky(soft).

does anyone know if I can put a different pair of forks on it? I wanted to get something that was
adjustable so when they start to sog out I can adjust them. I don't belive the stock ones are
adjustable in anyway.

what would you recomend for some inexpensive but decent shock forks?

Thanks

I've read further down the spec, and for the stem, it states it's a "quill" stem. That means, it's NOT threadless. However, sometimes specs listed on the website DO NOT match what's actually on the bike. Differences between products available between production schedules and what the guys putting together the specs are aware of.

Regardless, take it back to the shop and ask them. There are still a lot of forks available in threaded. You can upgrade to threadless, but that'll require a new headset and a new stem.

I won't be able to get to the bike shop until maybe next weekend(not this coming weekend)

I know I would have to replace the stem and headset along w/ the forks too.

I just didn't know if Diamond Back decided to use a headtube size that only fits one pair of forks.

hopefully they made it universal........

how long would those low end Rock Shocs last?
keep in mind i'm not a pro and wouldn't be blasting down large drops or crazy trails.

thanks again!
