okay, I've been riding around on a trek 4100 for the past year. I need a new one and I tried the 06 hardrock sport. Now, from what I've learned my knees are supposed to be at about a 20 degree angle at the lowest part of my stroke and I should have close to 2 to 3 inches between my crotch and the top tube. My 4100 had a stand over height of 27.8". The XS sport was too small and the S was too big, yet I still managed to feel as if I was riding on top of myself (I kept hitting my elbows with my knees...).

I've got some people who would like me to do trail riding with them but, until I get everything I need to fix up my 4100 I really need something I can also commute with (though not far, nor often, in fact, mostly for training rides on road, despite being a bit rough). The XS hardrock sport I can ride in a standing position and be quite comfy, something no other bike has ever allowed. Should I go for the inseem room or the riding room? I've never really ridden off road much other than falling asleep and winding up in marsh or getting run off the road...
