Bar Width Question

I've got a quick question. When building up a track bike for riding on the velodrome, is your handlebar width pretty comparable to what it would be on a road bike, or do you want your bars narrower or wider for some reason? This is assuming the bike will be used for general, beginner level velodrome riding.

Narrower if not the same width.

Smaller gaps to squeeze through on the track.
