Why don't the individual stage winners get to wear some sort of special jersey the next day?
Not that we need another jersey, but they seem left out.
That is sorta like the most combative, but with a jersey instead of a #
I agree, I also thought the stage winners should be identified with a special jersey. Additionally they should not allow any sponsor to field a kit in yellow ;) This way the Maillot Jaune stands out.

they do that at some races, like superweek in america. the winner of each day gets a jersey.

Maillot pourpre - most bruised, causes the most crashes
Maillot brun - last place finisher of previous stage
Maillot orange - those who fail doping tests (apologies to Euskatel)
Maillot gris - most flat tires, mechanicals
Maillot turquoise et jaune - rider who confounds most bikeforum posters with his jersey

The prestige of winning a stage could be well highlighted with a special jersey.

Gris-have to give it to The Chicken again....
Turquoise et jaune-might be changing to a Discovery Channel jersey in 06?
