Got this off of a late 70's Raleigh. Was this saddle made for Raleigh?

Is the saddle leather? If so, it's in amazing condition for a nearly 30 year old saddle. I can't tell from the photo of the bottom of the saddle; does it have a plastic bottom?

I'm reasonably certain it is leather. It has a small scuff mark on it that looks like a leather scuff. If it is vinyl it is very good vinyl. The seat bottom is metal. The seat is padded and heavy, a pound or more.

It is vinyl, but you're right -- it's good vinyl. Dunno the model name, but it looks like the one Raleigh put on the Super Tourer.

It scuffs just like leather, but looking at it further, the banding is vinyl. Didn't Raleigh own Brooks for a while?

Au contraire -- I'm full of crap on a regular basis. :D The welting along the bottom may well be leather, but the the stitching on top is obviously moulded, hence my observation.

And thankfully, Raleigh never owned Brooks.

Sorry man, but just because it has a brookes badge doesn't mean it is a "BROOKES" saddle :)

Yeah, right -- there's a huge black market out there full of people putting Brooks badges on inferior saddles.

"BROOKS" it is. If it said "BROOKES" I would know it was fake.

This is a Vinyl saddle , not leather. Raleigh used it on the Grand Prix models in the 1972-1974 time span. It is a basic but comfortable saddle. I am pretty sure that Raleigh never owned Brooks, but used them as a saddle supplier during their heyday in the 1970's, way before Huffy bought them.
