I just received an Email today by Bike Friday and it looks like they're going to bring the SatRDay back in production! This is good new news as the bike will use 20 inch wheels (406) instead of the 16' inch. I think this will make a tremendous improvement in comfort and efficiency. I like the idea of a folding recumbent as I can take it aboard a train for longer trips. The Canto was about 12 - 18 inches longer than my road bike and I suspect would be tought to get on a train. Does anyone on this forum manage to board trains with a long wheel base recumbent? I was hoping Bike Friday would use a 26' inch wheel in the back but this is not the case.

I really hope BF keeps the weight down because this really is a sore point about bents in general. I tested a higher version of the Burley Canto over the weekend but the heavy frame really didn't improve top speed. Anyway.

This just might be the bike that might make me go bent. I have my fingers crossed.

P.S. I just called and they already have a working prototype and will probably go production by October!

An HPM Phaser (http://members.efn.org/~cat/hpm/phaser.htm) is a folding 'bent that weighs as much as a Rocket and is already in production. Haven't seen it folded though.

Probably over $1K cheaper as well, but we'll see how BF prices their new 'bent.

Interesting. There is a folding recumbent from Europe but it's expensive. I wonder how well this thing folds because it has a decent design and it's not that expensive. It doesn't have to fold into a super small design but just something that splits in two would be prefect.

The SatRday was over 2K and overpriced. I hope BF finds a way to bring the price down a bit but I'll email this company and see if they have a pic of the bike folded. I would have to get the bike inside a train in order for me to consider one.
