well i went up north for a week of camping. and i was thinking of my mtb sitting in the garage the whole time. i went up there for camping, hiking, climbing and stuff like that. yea stupid me didnt bring the bike. this is mostly becasue i didnt have a car rack on top and i cant put a rack on the back. it fit in ontop of luggage and stuff but i left it home becasue i said to myself "what if i doesnt fit on the way back." well when i got there i put all my stuff on my back and started up a hill to the sites. and what do ya know a mtber flying down the road i was going up. so i stoped and said, "AHHHHHHHHHHH! WHY!" it had some down right AWSOME mtb terrain, dowhills were great and climbs were short but pretty technical. i did get on someones pos ht and rode down a pretty steep chute, then up a road, then up a technical uphill, then back down the road. i was so mad the whole time that i didnt have my bike.

has this every happened to you?

the moral of the story is: if you can fit the bike anyway you can, bring it!

Yeah, I missed my bike when I went to florida, but being out on a boat in the ocean and all I couldn't really use it much.

I went up to the mountains near Douthat State Park on a family vacation. I really wish I had my bike with me. It would fit, but the front brake went and took out the bosses with it just a day before we left. LBS couldn't fix the boss problem the same day.

Man, I really wish I did have it there because I'm relaying in an ironman in Douthat in Sept. Oh well, I'll pre-ride some of the course the day before.
