Just found this forum today. Seems like a pretty nicely done discussion group.
I don't ride a lot anymore, age, time and some serious back injuries have seen to that. However, with my eleven year old son being quite the athlete and having a big interest in road bikes and maybe racing, I am getting back into it finally.
I have always been an avid cyclist, even worked part time as a bile mechanic after my injury just to keep in it someway. But throughout high-scholl, college and up to early 30s I was almost always on my bike. Not a gear junkie, as I'v eonly owned two quality bikes. I got a Raleigh Supercourse in 1971 (when I was 14) that I rode, toured and raced until I was in my late 20s. Then I bought a Fuso (30th Anniversary edition) that I have ridden ever since.
Used to be a 300 mile a week rider, now I am happy with 5 to 10 mile rides wiht my son. Pretty exciting seeing him do 20 miles on a Giant 225 mountain bike. I have already posted a question regarding getting him into a road bike.
Otherwise, I am into music and audio equipment. I used to write for Listener Magazine about both, and am now Senior Assitant Editor of Positive Feedback Online (www.positive-feedback.com), which is one of the largest specialty audio web sites on the net.
That's it for now!
