Acetylene cutting torch? Pneumatic bolt cutters? Shaped charge? Bolt cutters with long handles and alot of muscle behind them? Maybe there's a bike thief out there who could share some "insider tips". (After all, they manage without gigantic tools...)

If it's a Kryptonite, you can always try a Bic -- http://www.engadget.com/entry/8154041173872584/

(S)he sent me an unsolicited PM stating that it's a combolock. If there are n digits, there are 10^n possible solutions. Probably 4 digits? 10,000 possible solutions. Get crackin'!

If you just want it off, get a dremel tool with a carbide disc. It will take a while, but that lock will come off eventually.

Whenever you use a lock, you are just buying time.

If there is a S/N stamped on the lock, the manufacturer could either give you the combo or make a new lock.

Who's lock is it? Why can't you open it. Did you try the Bic thing?

Sounds to me like someone wants to know how to rip off a bike

That's what I was wondering. If it's his bike and his lock, why can't he get it off? Confusing.

Shaped charge?

:roflmao: brilliant - a little excessive, but brilliant.

on a serious note - i have a kryptonite combo lock. They're pretty easy to crack the lock on, so if you'll just take a picture of you and the bike, with some proof that the bike is yours, I'll let you in on the secret.

I'm thinking the same thing. perhaps a "bot"... I'm not sure why I, specifically, would have gotten an unsolicited PM...

jeeze....combo locks are so easy to deal with that this isn't even worth answering...

......for pete's sake I was cracking my grandfather's master combo padlock to take swipes from his whiskey stash when I was 10....

....get workin on it young lady! the padlock I played with was far harder than that one!
