Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - fixieclock

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Most of us apparently own digital cameras and know how to use them. Therefore I encourage my fellow fixoids to compose fixiecentric (or just bike-centric) images and submit them to the following site:

go there and take a look, you'll get the idea.

First one to get a spokecard-clock picture wins a prize... or not

it'd be neat to arrange spokecards on a wheel so as to imply an analog clock somehow.
My chickens are featured in the 11:00 slot, btw. but I have yet to submit a bicycle photo.

after looking through more of the pictures and seeing the analog, i don't know about spoke cards but theres got to be a cool way to do an analog clock dealie with a bike
--Edit-- i was thinking minimalist (no numbers) and some sort of distinction to indicate arms of the clock

I could see one of those Crank Brothers speedlever thingies being used as the big hand.

lace a wheel with silver spokes but use black spokes for 12 of the holes on one side...i guess it would be best with radial...36h with every third black...except do two of the black spokes in red...positioned as if they were hands ona clock
that's crazy.

as cool as that would be, i neither have the wheels or the know-how to build such wheels (and am not sure i'd want radials anyway)... i could go out in search of such wheels on the street... hmmm *imagining my self singing "we're painting the spokes red" with a bucket of paint wearing an "ace" t-shirt*

Doing a 1:00 on a bike would be easy...

A temporary and non-structural method could involve wrapping spokes with ribbon, or old tubes, or something more festive...of course then there's painted or engraved numbers on bikes, chainrings, etc
