Yeah, so...anyone?!

I'm hesitant to join their list. Good stuff pops up on eBay every day it seems. Any insight?

I bought one. Probably could have saved a few bucks by watching ebay instead, but I was anxious. The frame is used for sure but its pretty solid. Im happy with it. Shipping was prompt and well packed. I wasnt on their list so I dont know if that really helps that much? They had my 57cm on their site and I bought it that way.

could anyone give me the web address? i know i use to have it but can't seem to find it anymore.

also, how "used" was the frame out of curiosity?

EDIT: scratch that i found the site. sometimes i can be a real idiot.

so yeh... how was the condition of the bike?

Usual axle rash, Some chips under the bike that had been touched up a few other small to medium scratches. Headset was in good shape. Ive put a couple larger chips in the paint since I've owned it, so I dont think so much of the ones it came with. =(

hrm... would you say the paint on the frame chipped really easily (i.e. italian paint jobs)

It feels sturdier than the paint on my DeBernardi, but thats really the only point of reference I have. Its not bulletproof and I plan on putting 3m scotchcal on it, but its not wimpy. Depends on which manufacturer you end up with, too. Mine is a Bridgestone.

E-Framebank posts better/more photos of the frame and the faults that it may have. My frame from E-Framebank arrived in better shape than the photos showed. Almost brand new. They really zoom in on any nick or ding so it looks worse than it actually is. Plus the E-Framebank frames come with both headset AND BB and they are of very high quality such as Hatta or Dura-Ace (high quality parts that only professional keirin racers race on)

yeh framebank was a better value, but are they going to reopen? i was under the impression that they were doen with international business.

My thoughts.
If Reload has agreed to buy any frame over 49cm at face value due to the incredible US demand, does Eframe bank ever need to reopen it's doors? They can sell them at cost plus whatever....
It could be a 'you loose' senario playing out here.

I think they're temporarily suspending overseas orders in order to sell more frames to the younger, aspiring keirin racers in Japan. They sell the frames to fund the development of younger riders and to spread the word about keirin racing. I think they were getting too many overseas orders (probably more than domestic ones) and they wanted help out more of the younger Japanese kids. If you're a Japanese kid 15 yrs old and younger, E-Framebank throws in free parts in order to help build a complete bike. I believe they'll start taking overseas orders again when they have a better stock of keirin frames.

So... say I have a close friend in Japan for the next year... If I can just find a frame with a 570-580mm toptube, I'm set.

How exactly do you navigate the e-framebank site when you're an American ignorant of anything not written in English?

I can help you out with translating the site if/when you need it.

if you don't mind using ie this link does a pretty good job of translating http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&langpair=ja%7Cen&u=http://www.e-framebank.com/2framelist.htm&prev=/language_tools

one thing i learned is that 'foundation plating' means that the whole frame is chromed under the paint.

also, some of the frames are spaced at 112mm in the rear, and i've seen some crazy-steep (like 80 degrees) seat tubes too.
