I know there is a single speed forum, but the only bikes I saw being discussed were single speed road bikes . . . not what I'm in the market for. I am looking for a single speed mountain bike (preferably with a front shock). But reasonably priced. Actually as cheap as I can get. I have looked at the Specialized HardRock SS and the Fetish Fixation. Unfortunately, my LBSs do not carry anything close. If anyone has ridden/had any experiences I would love to hear them. If anyone has any other suggestions, they are also welcome. Thanks!

How about a Misfit cycles. A few of my friends ride them and they swear by them. They have great customer service as well. Which is a good thing I guess, especially since one of my buddies managed to do this to his while pre-riding a course this weekend. BTW, you could probably get it pretty cheap. :D

All kidding aside though, they are great frames. Any frame can break.

I have a hardrock ss and really like it.It's kind of a do it all bike. I trail ride with it and I knock around town on it.

I like that fixation too though, seems there were/are some good deals on the frames on ebay.
