My rims (matrix 550 is what it says) are fine, but my hubs, after a year of mud, salt, hurricanes, sleet, rain, etc., are just about shot...at least I figure they are. I took my peddles off and the bearings were shot so I figure my hubs gotta be close to the same shape, if not worse. Anyway, I would like to resolve this issue yet when it comes to these things I can spin the wheel and see just how long it takes to stop, beyond that is beyond me. Any suggestions? I'm running a 9sp dt. thanks!

well I suggest taking it to a bike shop. They may need adjusting, or they may need rebuilt or they made need replacing but they would be able to tell you. A wheel with nasty bearings will still spin usually. So if you really want to check take the wheel off, take out the skewer and remove the thick peice of rubber from the top of each side where the skewer went through and then see if you can spin the axle that sticks out. Also if it spins easily see if it will wobble inside the hub, that would mean the adjustment is too loose.
