Hi all:
Starting riding again on the advice of my cariologist after my heart surgery in March 2005. Getting hooked on the feeling. Do lots of trail riding here in PA. We have a great rail-to-trial program in Montgomery County.

Welcome, and good health to you. As you get stronger and your rides get longer, and you become increasingly hooked on cycling, you might want to check out a local bike club, Suburban Cyclists Unlimited (www.suburbancyclists.org) for local group rides in the area. And for a change of scenery from the Schuylkill/Perkiomen trails, you might want to go over to NJ and ride the trail along the Delaware River (as you may know, the PA side was washed out and decimated by the floods earlier this year).

Without a doubt, Pa. has the best Rails-to-Trails I've ever ridden (and I think the most). That's besides all of the great areas for trail riding. I really miss it. Used to live in NE Md., but rode often at Lake Redman (around Shrewsbury) and Rocky Ridge (around York). The trails in those parks are maintained by YAMBA (York Area Mtn.Bike Assn.), who do an excellent job, working WITH the park system.
