I just discovered that some Techno makes my heart pound to the beat of the drums. Don't know anything about various artists/music. Please help me find more music.

Please submit referrals to music. Include the name of the artist and the track. I like to listen to it early in the morning to wake me up so that I can indulge in some advanced level cardio work.

Better not be DLing this stuff illegally. Even techno musicians have to eat!

There's more to electronica than Paul Oakenfeld. It can be super laid back like Etro Anime, it can masquerade as pop like Moby has done (excluding Voodoo Child), and it can be completely whacked out, like Dieselboy and the rest of the D&B genre. There's tons of great electronica to be found if you look for it.

If you're looking for a mainstream trance vibe with some complexity thrown into the mix, check out Sasha and Digweed.

I love Juno Reactor. Buy "Bible of Dreams" and "Shango". Shango is worth it for Pistolero alone. There are lots of great tracks on each CD; you'll get your money's worth.

Check out the Chemical Bros. Pick up their Greatest Hits 2CD compliation. "Not Another Drugstore" and "Star Guitar" are personal fav's.

Fatboy Slim is pretty accessible too. "You've Come a Long way, Baby" is an awesome CD. Not a song on there that I don't like. Check out "Acid 8000".

DJ Baby Anne has great CD's out too. So does DJ Shadow if you're into his sort of thing (I'm not).

Nope, got a napster account. I'm clean!

It's the drums I'm after. Don't like too much singing because I need to focus on my cardio instruction some while I'm dancing.

The kind of music I'm after will make my eyes jolt open like 2 liters of Rock Star.

I'll test drive your selection.

Dave Clarke is a pretty awesome techno dj.

I enjoy prog/progressive/prog-house more tho. You should check out Sasha - Involver album. Sander Klienenberg - This Is Everybody Too is amazing also. Infusion puts out some amazing tracks too. Maybe you should check out the song Infusion - Girls Can Be Cruel and if you like that you should check out their album Six Feet Above Yesterday.

I've also come to love breakbeats/breaks/nu-skool breaks. For this you should check out Hyper - Wired album or any Krafty Kuts sets you can find. Adam Freeland used to kickass too. Hybrid is famous for their breaks, check out the song Hybrid - Finished Symphony, that's one beautiful song.

and this may be off a bit but I just have to mention Ulrich Schnauss. His ambient tracks are too beautiful. Especially Blumenthal.

and if that's not enough for you, just realize almost all of America is oblivious to the world of electronica and all it has to offer

a true musicain whants their music to be heard and doesnt care about sales. If they do care then they need an attitude adjustment. A techno person would hardly qualify as a musician, if of course you would go by the definition and the fact that there is no theory behind it. They are button pushers.
I like some techno though, sorry for the rant. I just think people who make music shouldnt complain about some people getting it for free.

Not a techno aficiondo by any means, I have a couple Chemical Brothers cd's that are excellent, but someone gave me a copy of Groove Armada's Vertigo that is absolutely fantastic.
I don't even know if they're really techno in the proper definition & maybe I'd be mocked by true techno fans, but that album quickly became one of the favorites in my music collection.

I see it like this- for some, their work is creating music, and for them, the way they make their money is people buy their music. If I like something I hear enough to want it, I have no problem buying it. It's like thanking the artist for creating something I can enjoy over and over again. If an artist says they have no problem with people DLing their songs gratis, then I'll download em for free. And, if the artist is dead and is having his work posthomously sold, I have no problem DLing the songs for free. They can't benefit from the sales, since they're dead. Unless this guy is a DJ
