From the days when I had my Schwinn Sting-Ray 5 speed Fastback with the banana seat (wish I still had it today) to the 70's Peugeot "college" bike to the 80's Schwinn 12 speed, I've always enjoyed cycling as a form of exercise and alternative mode of transportation. Cycling just seems to suit me and I can be a bike riding "fool". Now with two "strapping" boys, 13 and 16 I've had the pleasure of introducing them to the sport over the years most recently through the resurrections of the old bikes. Teaching them some basic maintenance and repair techniques as best as I can. The BikeForum has been a great place to find and visit. It's a wonderful resource and I plan to visit on a regular basis. Soon, maybe soon I'll actually purchase a bike made in the 21st century.

Welcome to the forums!
Just because a bike is new doesn't mean it's better. Where abouts are you from?
