I need to replace my 1 1/8" threadless headset bearings, as well as the fork crown race and the top adjusting race. Do I need to replace the pressed in frame races as well and install as a set?
If not, it would be a lot easier to simply install the hand-fit items and leave the pressed-in frame races as they are. (They are not damaged).

How can everything else be worn out except for the press in races? And your going to buy a whole headset for the parts or spend just about as much for pieces so why not replace the whole thing.

They are not worn out - simply damaged. The frame races however, are fine.

If they are OK you could just replace the bad parts. But if it were me I'd change the whole thing.
