Hey all.. I've been away for a long time. I got a full-time job out of college, and I haven't had nearly as much time to devote to cycling. However, now that things are calming down a little, I'm finding my groove again. Not nearly as fast as I used to be. I couldn't place decently in a crit if you paid me, but I'm starting to feel better. Was in my first pace line in a year last night and all of teh adrenaline came rushing back like it used to. Has anyone else experienced this kind of time away from the sport, and if so, how long did it take you to get back into form? I feel like I could do it pretty quickly, but I don't know. I just don't have teh same kind of time that I used to. Anybody else experienced smiliar?

Yup

I had to stop in '01 after 7 seasons for family reasons. I tried to start up again in '03 and '04, but the will and committment werent there. This year i feel differenent about it all and my committment is strong. The downside is i gained 60+ lbs since i quit. There comming off pretty quick thanks to a good training and smart diet plan which i implemented in May. One day i just woke up and had enough of being a 5 toed sloth. I'll be back to racing in '06 doing Masters 40+ mostly.
