Volare'

Got to be an old fart like me to remember that atrocity. It dominated AM radio for two years mid-50s.

Either all of you are under 20 years old or over 70 because EVERYONE missed this one.
Left a date on the dance floor(and the place) over this song.

Friday is so bad it hardly counts as music. I see a few songs I like: In the Year 2525, Love Plus One (Haircut 100 has some good material, and they can play). Com'on, The Beatles' Yellow Submarine one of the worst songs ever? Doesn't suprise me you didn't know what you were talking about. Bobby Goldsboro's Honey never fails to make the top three in these polls. I haven't seen anyone mention Iron Butterfly's Inna Godda Davita. Then we have the one song that sends me screaming from the room pleading for someone to poke my eardrums out so I may never be forced to hear it again: Smoke on the Water.

To be truly bad the song needs to come from an established artist and get more airplay than it deserves. For me, there is a clear winner:

A Wonderful Christmas Time - Paul McCartney

Wildfire, by Michael Martin Murphy. Catchy enough to stick in your memory, but treacly enough to send you into insulin shock. A nice companion piece to Honey.

You are not a boomer or a grown up love child if you think you can put "In the Garden of Eden" in the worst list.
Come on, Iron Butterfly is one of the original "Heavy Metal" bands. I saw them play at the Boston Supermarket in 1969. They were already playing when I rolled into the parking lot in my 64 Dub, and the bass was so heavy I couldn't tell if I had had turned my engine off. By the time they finished "Most Anything You Want" my overnight plans were, well, lets just say , they were.
