I have made it so that the the quick release closes really snug and the aluminum drop outs bend enough with the quick release's pressure. My only concern would be that there is so much pressure on the outward nuts of the quick release that one of them pops loose, wheel pops off and I go flying. Any comment or opinion on this situation?

Any comment or opinion on this situation?I don't think I would do that with aluminum dropouts.Better fix would be a thin equal thickness spacer on the end of each axel.Be careful that there is enough axel sticking out to be secure in the dropouts.

So you see the aluminum cracking or stress fracturing under the pressure?

Yes.

Aluminum is not ideally suited to preload pressures, such as the one you are adding by bending the frame in this manner. Sooner or later, it will rebel against you.

As Sydney suggested, equal size shims or washers on each side are the best solution.

In addition to this, if its your standard sized hollow steel axle, you can easily buy a 135mm axle for $5 to $10 & swap it out. Then you can put the washers behind the nuts on either side, and it will behave like a regular 135mm hub. You might have chainline issues, but no more than if you stretched the dropouts.
