Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Yargh!! Anyone bought Cane Creek SCR-5 or Tektro R200A levers?

if so, did your levers come with clamp bands to attach the levers to the bar? shockingly, i cannot find any clamp bands with my scr-5s!!!
i tried to use the clampbands i had lying around made for diacompe levers but the female nuts on them were too small for the bolts of the cane creek levers.. local stores either do not have spare clamps or dont have ones that fit... just called CC but their office is closed
i got my calipers, housing, cable, and new bar tape.. all rip roaring and ready to go... just cant attach the darn levers

yargh, so the 'high impact resin bracket' they referred to are the clamp bands. do you have ANY idea whether theyre the same size as vintage shimano or campy? i *might* be able to scrounge those up..
otherwise, gotta wait through the weekend, and however many days it'll take for CC to send them to me :(
I was thinking of upgrading my exposed cable levers to these.....
sorry to hijack the thread, but would I need new brake cables to go from non-aero to aero levers? I am installing a new handlebar with grooves.
GREAT ... I just ordered the Tektro versions I havn't seen them yet I have to go to my LBS to pick them up. I hope they came with the bands ... I'll post when I have em'.
I got Cane Creek SCR-5s from Harris - came with the bands.

Surely, this has to be a single and bizarre error of CC. No way they regularly sell brake levers without clamps! Sorry to hear you got so unlucky.
My Tektros came with both bands. Though one was loose in the package after coming unscrewed from the lever. Got mine from Lickbike.com.

in most cases.. no... it doesnt depend on the type of cables/jackets but the length you have right now.
btw i did get replacement clamps from CC and everythings working good :)
cool thanks. weird that your levers came without all the fixins but glad CC came through.
how do you like the levers thus far? They look real nice. I think I'm gonna order a pair tonight.
I was worried if the endpieces were different (never used aero levers before); also I am going from a 38cm wide bar to a 46, plus a longer stem (from a 70mm to a 125). So length might factor in. Then again Maybe not - there's pretty high air hoops on there now!! :D

I just got some two weeks ago, and after getting used to the fatter grip part, I love 'em! One of the levers needed a squirt of tri-flow, it was "scritch-scritch"-ing. All quiet now. Very solid feel and good braking with my crappy old shimano cantis.

i like the longer hoods on them much more than on shimano aero levers.... more room to rest on on flats and for gripping on climbs. i bought the compact version and it looks well-proportioned... the 'normal' sized may be big.
i switched a friends non-aero to aero setup and his old endcaps were too small and would slide right into the brake body.. i improvised by taping a small spacer on the pass-thru hole to act as a stopper. works!
Buget minded campy knock offs ... thats why the grip is dope.
Record aero levers are identical only carbon levers for $180
I love the my chorus ergo levers on my road bike ... super comfortable. I ordered Tektros for my new fixed gear conv. project; which didn't come in yesterday. I would never spend that kind of $ on the Records (plus I don't want the carbon look). Solid deal CHHHHHHEAPP $20, I'm glad they were able to copy the campy hood shape ... our hands will love them for it.
