Hi to all - my name is Amy Beth, glad to meet you! My inspiration to join the bike forum came from my love of riding back in the 80's. I saved up and bought a Schwinn Traveler II ladies bike and fell in love. I got up every morning to ride just before sunrise... enjoyed many days, until my bike was stolen. I actually heard it hauled over the fence one late night in Jersey City, but wasn't quick enough to catch the thief that stole it from me.
I've been on a quest ever since to replace my Traveler II... might sound silly, I know it wasn't the top of the line, but it meant everything to me. I've ridden many bikes since then, but never felt the same way about riding. If anyone out there has one, please let me know. It was light blue, 10 speed, 24" tires (I'm only 5'3 lol), with black tape and quick release hubs and seat. I just won a Schwinn Le Tour mixtie at auction... we'll see if it can rekindle my flame for riding!
All the best to all of you! I welcome similar stories of "bike loves" lost or anything you would like to share. :) Happy riding!
