my friend has just bought himself a new trek 4300 mountain bike now although it is a nice bike it has an n-sync 266 suspension fork on the front we do not know much about these forks and cannot find any info on the net can someone please help

I have never heard of this fork, but if its named after the boy band, it cant be good :D

Maybe somebody else has more information then i do.

My son has a 24 inch Marin Bayview trail (about a 325 dollar bike) with an InSync 288 fork.
It is an entry level fork with no distributor support that I know of. My son has put 700 miles on
his bike (for real, he has a computer) and the upper stanchion bushings are already worn out.
If you hold the front brake and rock the bike back and forth, there is quite a bit of slop.
The fork works ok for what it is designed for, but Marin couldn't get me parts and the one former
distributor I could find in Chehalis, WA no longer carried them. They are made overseas and
it seems the company that makes them doesn't/didn't give much value to the concept of spare
parts and service after the sale. From what I was told they are an OEM fork only. Bottom line,
if your friend uses the fork long enough to wear it out, he will probably want to upgrade anyway
from a performance standpoint, and it is quite unlikely that any spare parts can be purchased.
