I am a 56yr old soon to be retired letter carrier. I recently purchased a Diamondback Wildwood and found out just how much fun it was to be back on a bike after 20 yrs. Am getting my daily rides in, inthe early morning before work. Great to see the sun come up while riding.

Why did you wait so long to retire? I thought you carriers could retire at age 55. Wishing I could be where you are in your career. I have 25 years in and am looking forward to retirement in 7 years. My husband can retire in 2 years. He has several family members who are carriers.

We can retire at 55 with a minimum of 30 yrs service, but the pension at that point is not all that much. I started with the USPS when I was 18 so I will be retiring with 39 yrs. of service which boosts the pension up considerably. I recently started riding to get back in a little better shape and have a fun type of exercise when I stop working.
