Okay, I have lost a fair amount of weight on the South Beach Diet, and I have also changed meds for my trigeminal neuralgia. The following indicates my daily average of BP readings (3 per day) before and after the weight loss and med change. I attribute most of the BP change to the weight loss, but some is definitely the trigeminal neuralgia med change. I have also reduced my BP meds by 1/2, and am also riding about 140 miles per week.
Before weight loss and on old medication for
Trigeminal Neuralgia - early June
145/95
139/95
151/97
141/96
138/85
140/92
132/85
130/88
Average BP = 140/91
After weight loss and change of medication for
Trigeminal Neuralgia (and even with a reduction by 1/2 in my BP meds)- last 8 days
95/65
118/78
112/80
118/79
127/84
118/79
105/72
120/78
Average BP = 114/76

Fox,
Thats great to see the drop. I know from weight has a big influence on BP but you have a big drop and I know you fell better. The medecine must be helping too. Congratulations!!!!
Wow! That's a big drop, for the better of course! Keep hanging in there!

You know, I didn't keep track of it on purpose. Didn't want to get into that constant weighing syndrome, and my wife says I look great and so does the mirror.
I know that I can now wear a jersey that I last wore in about 1999, that I couldn't even get on a couple of months ago, and that another jersey that was extremely tight is now loose. That is how I tell :D :D

You have to admire those that Fight on to beat a problem I know your phylosophy is problably like mine- "I've got a problem so how can I make it knuckle under or go away with the minimum of nuisance". You can either get it to knuckle under or give in to it. Thank goodness you have too much resilience to let it win. Not a way that many take nowadays, but keep knocking the problems down and they are not a problem. By the Way- My mirror tells lies, as I know I have a good body, but it never compliments me.
