I have a 2003 Redline Recon and its set up for street, vert, and dirt and I was hoping to make some new friends in the 325 area and learn some new tricks and tips for my bike if anyone wants to see a pics of my bike just email. Also some instructions on how to add pics to my threats and forums would help.

the term "good bike" is relative. if your just starting out you won't be able to tell the difference between different bikes. so I say your bike is good if it works like a bike.
1. has tires that hold air
2. brakes work somewhat
3. when you pedal, the bike goes forwards.
4. etc....

the more time you spend riding your bike, the better bike rider you will become. then you can start to understand what parts will work best for the type of riding you are doing.

a bike is only as good as the person riding it. don't worry about what other people say about your bike. just get out and have fun on it.

well i have some bmx experience but none that has anything to do with tricks other than the stander trick wich is probly something at any 5 year old can do but i would really like to know what i could do to it to make it smoother for instance i set the front tire up prefectly but the back tire when spinning still tries to turn the crank a little and will turn the crank aobut a 1/3 of a turn then stop and turn again what do i need to do to fix this so the crank wont move when the back tire is spinning

beermans alright.....

john, try to maybe lube your chain. without more info, it's going to be hard to help.
but,why does it matter if your cranks spin? if your feet are on the pedals, they won't spin. if your trying no footers, hit your back brakes for a sec and it will stop your rear wheel...

Thanks pnj if it will help i im trying mostly in vert and dirt and you knwo how many tricks need your pedals to be still so you can land the trick. Ive tride a no footer on it and the pedals moved well i think you know what happened on the landing. Anyways thanks for the tip if you have any more info on what else I could do to fix the problem just email:darksege725@sbcglobal.net

Simple solution tighten up your crank a little. If you chain has loss the 1/4 flex loosen your chain.

"The Way of the Samurai", surely. And, sorry, but I'm a bit too busy reading Marcus Aurelius' "Meditations" right now to do that.

I should probably read one of them books. When I was riding my Fuji girls bikes, the tire shifted and I wound up swearing up a storm, and almost killing someone.

k fire i just tightened it up but left it a little loose so i would have to use less effort to turn it and its working great thanks for the tip

I've done that with my bike countless times, and it probably weighs a good ten pounds less. What's your point?

FireTeamCharlie

Same thing here beerman. I'll take his bike off the 10ft dirtbike jump in my backyard a few times. See if its as tough as he says it is.

CMcMahon

I'm surprised that you didn't compare his bike to a road bike and then go on a rant about how you could easily beat him in a downhill street race on a fuschia 1987 Murray girls bike with coaster Tuffs.

Is it fuschia, or pink?

CMcMahon

Fuschia. It's one of those colors that Crayola made up to make you sound gay, like periwinkle.

I don't think Crayola made up that word/color. I have a couple of Fuschia plants hanging up in my back yard. they're lovely.

Remember all the trouble Crayola got into with their "Flesh" colored crayon.
