Just curious if anyone could estimate the value of a early 70's Pogliaghi track frame? It's very small, 49cm, not sure if that effects anything. I heard they are rare... didn't see any on FGG. It has some wear, some rust, etc, still original paint (sort've electric blue). Stamped with 3 hearts, 4 diamonds, stamped twice with "Pogliaghi" on the seat stays at the top.
thx...

For what it's worth I paid 600 for my late 80's pog with campy bb/headset, galli cranks, and a relatively new powdercoat job.

"Early 70's examples with N.R. components should have values around $ 1,100 - if not more."

that's probably just for road frames actually, but I imagine a track frame should be similar. Also I think the site is a bit out of date so potentially even more. If its a frame made by Pogliaghi himself it should certainly be valuable.

"Sante Pogliaghi was one of the acknowledged masters of post war Italian frame builders. He was sought after by top Olympic and Professionals alike. While his track bikes, both solo and track are most famous, he also made superb road bikes. Sante passed away in the mid 1980s and the rights to manufacture frames under his name had been passed to Marc Rossin then to the Basso brothers. Bikes from the 1970s and earlier, made by Sante himself, are highly prized by knowledgeable collectors."

Keep in mind, thats for a bike w/ a full set of components in very good condition....

$500-700 frame, fork, hs and bb if in immaculate shape.

Original paint is a plus, preferred by the astute collector to even a top-notch repaint. Do your best to preserve the paint, but ride the bike anyway.

I paid 800 five or so years back for mine, full campy group with cinelli bars/stem. It's in very good, but not immaculate shape, and from the late 70's. Someone recently offered me seven hundred for the frame/fork, and I've seen some pretty high prices for Pogs on ebay.

theres one from the late 70s on german ebay for the second time. no one ever bids, cause the guy always starts the bid at around 950euros, he's crazy. but it looks pretty mint, with campy and dura ace parts.

didn't realise there was a seperate german ebay... and all this time i've been missing out on looking at the pretty track bikes???? damn, is there a way to search under every ebay listing avail?
my pogliaghi has quite a good bit of cosmetic damage, looks like it got in a fight with a speed junky wielding a nail file.
