Bicycle Mechanics - Name of a tool...

Does anyone know the name of, or better yet, the link of this tool:

I'm pretty sure its only used for ISIS bb's. It's when you remove your cranks, after you take the crank arm nut off, you put this little thing in the BB, so the crank arm puller has something to push on....

Anyone know what im talking or about or is the description to vague?

You can really just put anything in there that is relatively sturdy. A small pipe or even a wooden dowel would do.

Sounds like you are talking about a crank arm puller. After you remove the bolt holding the crank to the spindle of the bottom bracket, the tool threads into internal threads of your crank arm and as you operate the tool, it pushes the crank arm away from the spindle.

There are other makers of these types of tools, but I personally like Park.

I had a regular crank arm puller for a standard square, tapered spindle. The small end that pushed against the spindle was too small to work with a ISIS hollow spindle. Talked to my LBS and the wrench sold me a slightly larger end that works with the ISIS hollow spindle. Price $1.00. I like my LBS. :D

Did this new end thread into the tool? What brand tool?

I've heard of people using a dime to increase the effective diameter of the end - but it seems like you'd have to center the dime, unless the dime's outside diameter was barely smaller than the spindles inside diameter.

If he sold you the Shimano crank extractor extension then he either did know what to charge or he was making a point to give you a great deal. That part costs dealers almost 3x the $1 you paid. There is a knock off of that same Shimano part, but it still costs me more than a buck. Indeed a good reason to like your LBS.

Thats what i have I think.
Its the insert for a 1/2" square drive and has the spline for ISIS.
I think i payed 6 or 7 bucks for it
