of course i know that, thats how i want it to be, i just want a smaller sprocket, if i can fit it with my chainstay brakes i might go for a 36 - 13

since when is 44-16 a monster gear? thats the average gear ratio for the past 15+ years... true, i would rather have 2 smaller gears to lighten the back end up. a monster gear i would say is 46-16 or larger (like when i used to race back in the day)... ok, thats my take on things.

You must be younger than me. 44-16 was the average gear about 30 years ago. And some bikes were pretty heavy then. 44-16 on a 24" cruiser would be a bit of a workout though.

2001 or so.

FireTeamCharlie
08-12-05, 04:03 PM
44-16 is far from monster. When I had my hoop-D I ran 44-14, it was actually quite good. If you call 44-16 monster gearing you must have weak legs. Now for the skate park 44-16 might be a little toublesome. Clearing some stuff might be a b1tch.

CMcMahon
08-12-05, 04:10 PM
Monster as in large, not tall, you moron.

FireTeamCharlie
08-12-05, 04:13 PM
Well i thought monster meant tall.

bmxrdr88
08-12-05, 05:15 PM
what the hell are you talking about FTC, its not hard to ride skateparks w/ a 44-16 at all.

Brian
08-12-05, 05:17 PM
Monster as in large, not tall, you moron.

Does this make me a moron too? Because when it comes to road and MTB chainrings, we refer to anything bigger than normal size as "Monster". Like a 56t on a road bike. Wait, I know I'm not a moron, you must be referring to Chuck.

bmxrdr88
08-12-05, 05:20 PM
a 56t is a biggen!

FireTeamCharlie
08-13-05, 02:16 AM
I didn't say it was hard, it'd be a little harder to clear crap but thats it. Also Ex, I'd like to welcome you to the group, the morons. You here to stay or just to visit, the morons?

Brian

Thanks, but I'll continue to be a mere observer of the actions of the less mentally fortunate.

what's up with this lightweight-everything trend?

CMcMahon
08-15-05, 01:27 PM
Ask Chris Moeller. He started it all with the Dirtbike; that frame was way ahead of it's time when the mid and late 90s rolled around.

What would kinda be funny is if ex put a Chevy 454 big block in his Tandem MTN bike, in memory of his Camaro.

Ex wife sold it to buy a house. 1968 Rally Sport, 327 with fat cam, 2.02 heads, M21 four speed, 12 bolt posi rear end with factory 4:10 gears. Metallic blue with polished Centerlines and working vacuum operated hideaway headlights. Very quick.

Brian

FireTeamCharlie

Give your son a Camaro like that one, and an ex wife that sells it for a house, Im sure he'd make her disapear.

Yeah, good luck finding another at a decent price. And stop being stupid.
