I just finished putting together a new DB XLS. New frame, so I used some parts I had laying around the shop. I put a SID Race Ti fork on, and it has 100mm travel This frame came with the cheapo Rock Shox Deluxe rear shock, and I want to upgrade to an air shock with lockout. Any suggestions of the best shock? And the best place to buy?
Also I have a question about travel. I'll probably end up putting this SID fork on my son's bike, and I want to get a dual crown for my bike. I can't remember the rules but I think if you have 4" in the back, you want around 5" in the front, is this right? I'm guessing this XLS has about 4" in the back. I'm looking at a White Brothers dual crown for the front but would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance and forgive the lameness of this post, I've been out of this for awhile...
By the way, I want to end up with a cross country-able downhill bike.
