Mountain Biking - Haro Extreme

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Doesn't haro make BMX's. I looked at the web site and couldnt find your specific bike (the extreme) but if it is based on bmx tech that tells me it would probably be tough. Strong bb and hubs. However it will be heavier, smaller (probably setup as a cruiser with 24" wheels).
This is of course typical this bike you are asking about could be entirely different. In general it will be strong but it will hurt if you ride anything too rough.
Well on their site they have a MTB section, their Extreme X3 looks good, but i found out my friend has an X1. Its ok

The Haro Extreme X3 is basically a copy of a Santa Cruz bullit with cheaper parts. Bike Magazine just did a quick test on it and gave it pretty good reviews. It's definately a budget bike, but can easily be upgraded as parts wear out. It's a freeride bike and thus, is a little on the heavier side. It's got a long wheelbase and handles well in fireroad situations. The longer wheelbase also means you'll be fighting it in tight singletrack. It's a great deal and a good looking bike!

BTW, the shop where I work IS a Haro dealer and they've got a lot of good bikes well spec'd, but don't get a lot of press. I dunno why not. They've got some top seeded pros in XC and 4x. Seamus McGrath and Mike King are the two I can remember. There are two or three more that are well know.
