Randonee build part trois

Combing thru Brake options for my low-end tour/commuter build, I came across these Guidonnet Brakes under bar brakes. Some info indicates that they are or were common on touring rigs.

Can any of you who have this type of brake lever as your braking system chime in with feedback/comments of how they work as primary? I've ridden upright hybrid straigh bar bikes with this sorta lever (like it okay) but always ridden on tours with the usual levers.

any pics of touring rigs with this brake lever?
