I just bought a new bike that has an American Classic 350 Sprint wheelset. I'd love to use the wheels, but I'm concerned because AC site claims the rider weight limit is 200 lbs, and I check in at 198lb (not including riding gear). I'm leaning towards selling the wheels.
If I sell the wheels, I'm debating b/t hand building a set or wheels or buying machine built ones. I'm leaning towards hand built with Mavic Open Pro rims, ultegra hubs, and DT competition spokes. I'm not completely ruling out machine built rims (Easton/Velomax Vista perhaps). My budget is $400. I'm under the assumption that hand built wheels provide better quality at a lesser price.
Any comments/advice would be greatly appreciated!
