Hiya,
currently i run and cycle 5 to 6 days a week. i don't have any joint problems, and i'd like to keep it that way :). i take a daily multi-vitamin, i eat a pretty well balanced whole food diet, no meat but do have milk daily. usually have a glass of soy milk after harder workouts. i know theres a lot of debate over whether or not consuming protien immediatly after work outs actually helps or not, but i figure it's not hurting anything. so is there a good daily supplement i should add to help keep my joints healthy?
i would especially appreciate input from the docs who read the forums.
thanks :)

try glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM. also, make sure you're taking a good EFA supplement as well. another thing to try is shark cartilage.

I've been using a product called "move free" for the last few months. Glucosamine and a bunch of other goodies and my knees haven't felt this good in a while. I've used other glucosamine products but this is the only one I've actually noticed a difference with.

Move Free is what I use as well. My knees haven't felt this good in years. You have to be patient though. I've been taking them for about 10 weeks, but didn't notice the improvement right off the bat at all. It was gradual.

not sure what DJD is, but as far as i know it doesnt run in the family.
currently i have no knee or any other joint problems, but i'm 40 years old, so i thought it might be a good idea to take a supplement to help keep my joints healthy. this is preventitive maintenance, not a cure for an existing problem.
thanks for the info everyone :)

A doctor recommended glucosamine/chondroitin to me a couple years ago and I have used it since. It works great. After some time you can taper down your intake. For instance, I first took 3/day, now I take just one in the am.
I have a history of joint problems, including knee difficulties from a HS dislocation; a previous doctor told me I have the start of rheumatoid arthritis. However, G/C and exercise have helped immensely. Good luck.

Pure unadulterated WATER. Best things for joints. Make sure you are always adequately hydrated.
I take a great supplement called reliv and it has another product call Arthaffect. The arthaffect is awesome and actually is clinically proven to regrow cartilage. I took it cause I had a medical meniscus tear and it healed that.
