On 8/1, I ordered a M/S Cannondale road tandem in blue fade colors. Obviously, can't wait to get it. MY LBS guy ordered it immediatly as I stood next to him and the rep at Cannondale told him it would ship in 3 weeks, but if I wanted a platinum colored one, it could be sooner, only 2 weeks. I was surprised to hear that I could get it so soon. I know in the past that the Cannondale delivery promises have not been too accurate. Can anyone tell me if they have had a recent experience ordering one of these bikes, and if Cannondale met their delivery promise? Another shop in our area has been waiting for a "stock" order of Cannondale tandems for a couple months, but the guy at my LBS told me that Cannondale gives priority to specific customer orders, and they get shipped first. My wife and I plan to ride this bike in the Lance Armstrong Century in early October in Moab, and would like to have a month or so to become accustomed to it. Your thoughts, please...

We got ours last year through a lbs. They didn't have the right one in stock so called around and found another dealer with one still in the box. The lbs owner drove down and picked it up (10 hour drive). It was ready to take home in two days. We love the bike.

We ordered the same bike in the beginning of March. We were told it would take 6 weeks. It came in 3.

I ordered my 05' Blue Cannondale Road Tandem about 5 weeks ago. I was told it would take 2 weeks. It arrived at the LBS 3 weeks later ... not 'too' bad really.

I LOVE this thing!!

Thanks Guys,

We'll let you know about this new experience. I'm more excited about getting the new bike than I have been about a new car purchase. Less buyer's remorse, I guess! Actually, I've never had buyer's remorse with a bicycle.

Mine took about 3-1/2 weeks, again Platinum was quicker......but uglier.

Got our new blue fade road 'Dale on Monday (8/15). It arrived two weeks early! What a great surprise. The bike shop was absolutely wonderful, Revolution Mountain Sports in Sandy, Utah. My stoker and I have been out on it twice and feel pretty comfortable with it. She's not afraid to suffer and I'm pleased at the speed, even climbing isn't too bad. I was also worried she would complain about the harshness related to the stoker's position, but she says it's even smoother than her Trek 2100. I guess the excellent saddle Revolution substituted along with the seat post help out quite a bit.

We will put perhaps 100-150 miles on it this weekend, and next Saturday will ride it in the Cache Valley Century. Can't wait!! Last Saturday I rode in a local century (ULCER), and there were about 20 tandems. I guess the tandem fever is catching...
