How can you tell the difference between a shimano or campy hub/freewheel on a set of Mavic road wheels? Thanks in advance!...btw..there is no cassette installed on the hub

Current campy has 8 splines,and shimano has 9. There are other differences,but that is the short story and ought to do for gov't work.

Also, the splines on a Campy freehub are more pronounced and one pair is keyed so the cogs can only be put on the freehub body in one direction.
