General Cycling Discussion - How about unique bike clubs names?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The RoughStuff Fellowship is not a homage to the iteinerant poster/global tourist we all know and love, nor a collection of self-confessed masochists. It is the original, genuwine off-road cycling club. It predates any of that Marin County nonsense by decades and prides itself on a low-tech self sufficient approach to leaving the tarmac.

My club -- an anarchic assemblage, to be sure -- is The Irregulars.
This name came up when I was running through names with Enrico... "Los Escapados?" "The NDG Cycle Club?" "How about the Royal Montreal West-End Light Bicycle Cavalry (Irregulars)?"
"That's it," Enrico yells.
"You mean Tthe Royal Montreal West-End Light Bicycle Cavalry?"
"No, the Irregulars!"
You see, we're a non-club as much as we're a club. Our jersey will have four pockets and a backward zipper, and our bibs will have the chamois on the outside! [A little rag-trade humour there for everyone...]

My weekend gang is called the Bovine Paceline. Spiffy black and white cow motif jerseys with a cow on a bike. Needless to say, with a couple of notable exceptions, most of us are NOT weight weenies, but we do a nice tight paceline at a fairly respectable 21-22 mph. I'm a new member so I don't have a jersey yet, but we are placing an order now. I'll post a picture later. Hmm, I think I owe several pictures come to think of it.
Later,
Rainman
