My better-half and I are staying at the Swiss Ottel on Tuesday. It's our 30th Anniversary, and we are going to take in a Cubs Game at Wrigley Field. We're considering bringing our tandem along and riding from the Hotel to Wrigley. We've heard that Wrigley accommodates bicycles, but what of the ride from the Swiss Ottel to Wrigley?
Koffee, you're up there, any words of wisdom?
Actually, I've moved!
However, you can do this- take Chicago Avenue west to Lincoln Avenue, then turn right onto Lincoln Avenue and head north on Lincoln to Halsted. That is a big intersection of Lincoln/Halsted/Fullerton, so be sure you're turning on the correct street! Anyway, you'll turn right and head north on Halsted to Addison, then turn left onto Addison and head about a block or two west on Addison to Wrigley Field.
Heading back, I recommend just taking Addison all the way east to the lakefront. I don't know if you can get onto the lakefront directly from Addison. If you can, there should be stairs or something that will allow you to go underground under Lake Shore Drive. If there isn't an entrance, then hang a right on inner LSD and head to Belmont (4 blocks south) and enter the lakefront bike path on Belmont. Then you can ride the lakefront back to the city and get off at Oak Street beach, which will spit you out at Michigan Avenue and Oak Street. Head west on Oak Street to your hotel.
Does that help?
I think he means the Swiss Otel on east wacker. (By the hyatt). The easiest way would be to carefully descend down lower wacker and take a left under lake shore drive. Stay in the right until you pass the busy street that leads into Navy Pier. The next intersection will lead you onto the lake front trail. I've seen a bunch of tandems on there so you should be fine. I'm not sure what exit you would want to take, maybe west on belmont, then north on halsted (or clark). Addison will be loaded with traffic and there will be parts blocked off.
Somehow, I forgot Swiss was over on East Wacker. That's very true. You could also take the tandem to Wrigley, but then heading back, for a change of pace, take the way I recommended- Take Addison to Halsted, turn right on Halsted and head down Halsted to Lincoln. Turn right on Lincoln, and head south on Lincoln all the way back to the Lincoln/Clark intersection. Turn right on Clark and head south on Clark back to Wacker. Turn left on Wacker and head East on Wacker all the way to the Swiss Otel.
That's just for a change of pace so you're not doing the same old, same old when you head back to the hotel.
Also, at the Swiss Otel, get a CTA Bus and Train map. It has a detailed map of Chicago, and it's very useful.

Whew! Thanks for the directions...seems like it could be a bit complicated. I'll look at a map with these instructions to determine our options.
Nah- it's not complicated as long as you have the map and follow our directions. You'll be ok.
I've heard that Wrigley offers valet parking for bikes ... but I haven't done it. Where do you go with your bike?
