We're gonna go fishing, so we hook up the boat. Everything is latched down, and tightened.. Or so we thought. I'm driving, I go over the train tressel a little faster, but not more then 5 miles over my avaerage cross speed.. Since it's on a hill, it bounces.. Which played a big role in what happend.

So.. we go over.. BAM slam into the street.. I thought the rear differential had broken, or the axle had snapped. The boat came OFF the hitch! The saftey chains broke from the pressure of pulling, and the sfatey chain brackets had been sheered off during the pull.

So, I get out, and my dad gets out.. We're sitting there, in the middle of a busy intersection pulled to the side yeild.. scratching our heads. My dad goes to pick it up and burns his hand.. Tries a again and miscalculates into the back of the F150.. Dented tailgate, not a big deall. it happens.

We hook up, and try and get over to a residential area to look at it.. we say the hell with it, go back to the house.. I ghetto rig something up McGyver style and we go.. everything is damn dandy til we get ready to coem home.. Pitch black, and our boat lights aren't made to eluminate that much. So.. I swear we missed 2 trees by 3 inches, 4 stumps by centimeters and when we got there.. I let my dad drive up on the trailer.. while I'm backing up, and I can't see anything.. I miscalculate and I go off the boat ramp.. so I pull forward and the boat trailer grind for a sec then pops up.. people on the dock are laughing now.. then my dad misses.. hit the dock shaking it to hell.. then he backs into it bending our light beyond repair.. THEN he slams into the trailer.. so I get out and just latch to clip onto the eye on the boat front and just crank it up.. ... yeah.. that ends it.

My dad about to pick the boat to latch it again (http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/7793/****0010iq.jpg) The bracket that ripped off (http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/9889/****0034qg.jpg) The ripped hook that hooked to the truck bracket.. which remaind intact (http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/4179/****0027bw.jpg)

Well first of all, you need a black diamond locking beaner and that chain needs to be kryptonite.

Look at the expression of the person in the red convertible.

Man that SUCKS. If that happened with out boat there would be people dead and we would be on the news. We have a 26 foot (I think) Glacier Bay catamaran. Anyways, I am not suprised that it came off and the chains snapped. Those were rusted to hell! Nice boat btw, from what I can tell it seems like a worthy vessel.

Well, we're ghave new chains.. We just haven't put them on yet, I told my dad. But, you know how old folks are "everythings fine" .. anywho.. we're going back tomorrow.. catch more then 1 fish this time.

It's a 17 foot 1975 Ranger.. It's definitely worthy.. We've smashed stumps at 30mph and not have the boat crack.. it's a definite good river boat.. I remember hitting a stump shaped like a ramp on accident.. we went like 6ft out the water..

Yes, I am a redneck. :)

Little confused -- what did your dad burn his hand on? Was the tongue still hot from sliding on the pavement, or did he hit the truck exhaust? And how did the F-150 tailgate get dented? And were there any bicycles involved?

And you started drinking at what time?

I think my dad had a beer.. haha, well.. if half a smirnoff is drinking.. then.. when we got home.

He picked up the tounge and it was hot from sliding on the street. We tired to pick it and roll it.. but the momentum of the trialer slid to far.. and smack into the tailgate. We don't care, it's looking like a truck now.

lol, no cyclists or cycles involved. I'd hate to hit my own kind :(

It's a good thing that curb was there to stop the boat, otherwise some people may be in body bags or on stretchers..
