I have a Mongoose Revolution (2000-2002 i dont know what year) i have a RockShox Duke SL Front Suspension Fork, and i need to replace the stock fork with the new one. I do not know how to do this. Can anyone tell me or link me to a guide? I'm really lost.

I have not done this yet but will be replacing my 2001 manitou sxr front fork with a 2005 manitou axel super. I talked to a bike mechanic and he said take off the top cap and loosen the two bolts on the headset and the fork should come out. With the new fork you will have to cut the tube before installation. Also make sure everything fits such as brakes, wheel and tube diameter. I took off the top cap and my old fork is 1/18" threadless which is pretty standard. Hopefully someone else will respond who has done this.

Most people who want to swap forks forget that there is the crown race on the old fork that must be removed and pressed onto the new fork (assuming you are using your old headset).

It's not hard, but some people often forget this when they think of a fork as being a drop-in replacement - it is not.

Don't forget the star fangled nut! (the Park Tool site will fill you in). They're not meant to be reusable (though I suppose you could push it through the bottom of the old fork and bang it into the new one). They're only a dollar or two, though.

Thanks guys. I'll go down to the local shop later, and pick up all the tools and a new nut.
