Hi, I’ve biked for years, but haven’t logged many miles since moving to Indiana. Years ago, living in Tennessee offered ample opportunities for mountain biking (my preferred mode at the time), but moving to Indiana, buying a home, and having kids all cut into biking time, until we rarely biked except for vacation and around the block. This year my wife has been rejuvenated in fitness and we bought a tandem as a way to get back in the saddle. The Fuji is a cross bike, but the thin tires and smooth ride, made us curious about a true road bike. So a couple weeks ago we headed to Indianapolis and can home with two beautiful Cannondale road bikes. We are both very pleased and they each suit our riding style and work wonderfully. The mountain bikes are now left to towing duty as our daughter loves her Burley tag-a-long, and out son still is riding in the trailer. I’m really glad to have found this site and hope to visit and participate often.

Great state, Indiana. I was born and raised in Bloomington. I've been in the DC area since 84', but I go back to visit relatives a couple of times a year and I'm doing the Hilly Hundred in October - should be fun! Didn't RAIN finish in Richmond this year?

Hey R900! Welcome to the forum! Nice collection of bikes you and your wife have there. I've lived in Bloomington for 12 years, and finally after buying a nice bike I think I'm ready to try the Hilly 100. There are some really nice and challenging routes around here, especially heading northwest from town on Maple Grove Road. Thanks to Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=bloomington+Indiana&ll=39.164540,-86.535959&spn=0.035467,0.056099&t=h&hl=en) my ride partner(s) and I have really been able to up our mileage and scout out new roads to try out.

I would like to do the RAIN one year, and yes it does end in Richmond, after 156 miles - Wow! Speaking of the DC area, we always vacation at Ocean City and take the bikes, with those flat roads you feel you can ride forever.

Mike,

We thought we might try the Hilly this year on the tandem, but didn't get it worked out, hopefully next year. Have fun. Bloomington is in a beautiful part of the state.
