Check out www.performancebike.com or www.nashbar.com . Both of these companies has their own brand of tires. They tend to be very inexpensive. I know for a fact that Performnance has some MTB slicks, not so sure about Nashbar. While I have never ridden tires from these companies, I would assume that they are of OK quality, especially for just riding on the road anyways. Good luck in your search!

Check out the August edition of Mountain Bike Action magazine,..page(s) 16 and 17. It looks like exactly what your looking for @ $29.98 and was rated very well. They are Kenda Kwest 26 x 1.50 pavement tires.
