26 year old broad here. i've been riding for 'bout two months in the wonderful city of los angeles, which coincides with 'bike summer in l.a.', strangely enough. i had been planning to ride for a while, and thankfully, the totaling of my brand new car has afforded me the opportunity (wha wha wha wha ah ah ah).

i commute to and from work each day, about 25 miles in total and i'll be darned if i still have energy for a weekly tuesday night ride and whatever else comes my way. i'm looking forward to the next 'midnight ridazz' and eventually the 'critical mass' ride if i can get out of work early enough one of these days.

i ride a crappy novarra right now which i got at a thrift store for 20 bucks and slapped on a new saddle and pedals for a few extra. i'm looking for a cheap road bike to fix up, thinking it'll make my commute quicker and a bit more managable.

maybe it's a little frightening riding the streets out here, with the cars wizzing by, but you get used to it in time. one could say it beats sitting in traffic and paying for parking... it would be nice if they invested a little more in the street upkeep, but hey! at least it's not gravel.

pleased to meet ya.

welcome!
what part of LA are you in? I'm in OC and the drivers are nuts here as well, but you do get used to them.
Keep up the biking habit and I'll see you on the road!
