Sapim Leader Straight Gauge (http://www.wheelbuilder.com/closeup.asp?cid=128&pid=173&offset=0), specifically.

I've been putting off a wheelbuild for a couple months due to $$$ constraints. With DT Swiss or Wheelsmith spokes, I'm looking at $60-70 in spokes and nipples. With this, it's closer to $30, which isn't so bad. But is there much of a quality difference between Sapim and DT Swiss/Wheelsmith? Some info: This will be for a fixed gear wheelset, laced to MA3s and I'm ~190 lbs.

On a side note, is there anyplace else someone can recommend for buying spokes? Wheelbuilder.com is quoting about $30 for shipping and that seems pretty high to me.

Thanks in advance.

My LBS uses Sapin for custom builds and the touring wheels he built are trouble free. They are good as any other brand.

I buy my spokes typically from Icycles-USA
Sapim spokes are distributed by Thorr USA
Do a search, sapim spokes come up every so often, with positive comments

You can buy DT Swiss straight gauge spokes including nipples from Colorado Cyclist for $.45 each in 14 or 15 ga. That means for two 32 spoke wheels you are only looking at $28.80 plus shipping. They have all lengths and their shipping is pretty reasonable.
