Ok, on my Schwinn Traveler I currently have center pull Dia-Comps (labeled as 'Schwinn Approved') and a pair of new alloy rims. While the alloys did improve braking some, I believe that the old Dia-Compes just aren't up to snuff for my liking. I can clamp down on the levers and watch the metal arms of the brakes which attach to the yoke cable bend upwards while putting little more pressure on the rim.

Now for the question - I know I need to make sure I have the correct length reach from the bolt position down to the rim (shouldn't be too hard as I'm still using 27" rims), however a co-worker and ride partner recently purchased the Nashbar Jail dual pivot brakes and ran into the problem of the bolts not being quite long enough to get attached on his Nishiki. I want to be sure that the brakes that I pick up are both a decent upgrade in stopping power (looking at dual pivot side pulls such as newer 105's and the like) as well as compatability with my current frame. I can easily measure the length bolt I need, but does anyone know of, or where I can find, the bolt lengths on these newer brakes? My co-worker ended up having to modify the brake a bit in order to get the extra bolt length he needed and would rather not have to go through that myself.

Oh - and if anyone's in need of some Dia-Compe center pulls in good condition I'll gladly send them out when the conversion is complete.
