Advocacy & Safety - Out of curiousity, I'm wondering...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If anyone here would suggest repealing helmut laws for riders under 18 in those places who have such laws, and if so, why? I realize helmut laws have been debated ad naseum on BF, but I could not find this specific question addressed.

These are the sort of laws that are hardly ever enforced, like riding bikes on sidewalks. Therefore what would be achieved by repealing them. In my town there is a law against mowing the lawn on Sundays, but that has never stopped me, and I am not going to try to get it repealed.

Are you looking for an argument?
Sort of a reverse troll?

Actually, no, not at all. I have been a supporter of mandatory helmet laws for everyone of any age, but after reading a lot of posts on the forum, I'm inching toward a new position of urging everyone to wear a helmet, but not mandating it.
That said, I wondered if any of the folks against mandatory helmet laws also were against mandatory helmet laws for kids. Shouldn't that be the decision of the parents, for instance? I'm just trying to extend the logic if it does, and if it doesn't, then I'm back in a pickle, but probably landing on the side of mandatory helmet laws for everyone.
Just looking for more food for thought. No trolling -- backwards or frontwards, I can assure you!

I'm trying to figure out why your original post made you out to be a spelling challenged idiot, and then your reply when called on the potential of being a troll came across as being an educated individual who could spell properly, and put a thought into text appropriately.
I'd wager troll, just because I wear a helmut.

I misspelled a word. It happens. If you don't care to respond to my question, then move on. It's that simple. It was a simple question, and if no one cares to respond, then that's the end of it. No big deal.
