My back rim is wapr about 1/8th of an inch, and it bothers me a little, cause im a little obsesive about my pimp mobile. Is there anyway i can get it fixed? The LBS ****ed up tightening my spokes, and they won't take the blame cause i rode it after the attempted to fix it? Can i just take it to someplace and get it fixed(probably gonna gi it to my aunt who works at a bike shop and build road bike rims). Them Fu*king *******s.

You mean like bent to the side??? Then all you have to do is find the spot that is bent and tighten the spokes on the opposite side that its bent to, and tighten the spoke in the middle of the bent spot 1/2 turn, and the 2 spokes on either side of that spoke should be tightened 1/4 turn.

He claims he can weld, but can't twist a spoke nipple?

You can spot-true your wheel using the brake pads. It won't be dead on, but you can get it reasonably close by following these steps (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html#tensioning). Don't worry so much about dish or vertical truing, those are difficult without a dish stick and a truing stand. Focus on lateral true for now. Tiny increments (1/4 turn or so at a time) are best. I SHOULDN'T need to tell you that a spoke wrench is necessary (14ga most likely), and you should also be aware that to tighten spokes you turn the nipples outward, but something tells me I SHOULD, so I AM.

I was afraid I'd screw it up. Im an idiot when it comes to rims. And yes I can weld, I built my chopper.

Please, share a photo of this chopper. And a close up of the welds.

If he realy doesn't feel like spending the couple bucks on a spoke wrench, he could allways take of the tire and use a flathead screw driver to tighten the nipples from the top, but that would probably just confuse him more, so...never mind...

WTF do you think I use. I use a flathead screw driver. But I am not confident enough in my abilities with rism to mess with my odyssey.

Um...if you can actually turn the nipples from the top with a screwdriver without destroying them, they're a bit on the loose side. Nipples are usually made of soft brass and they're very easy to wreck if you're not careful.

Why would you be messing with the nipples if the spokes wern't loose? But I know what you mean, about them stripping to easily if your not SUPER carefull.

The humble spoke wrench, once again proving it's not the tool, it's the fool.

Was that aimed towards me? Becasue all i said is that IF someone was to lazy to buy a spoke tool, using a flat head does work if your carefull. I laced up a wheel set for my friend with only using a flathead, so don't tell me that it doesn't work. All you have to do is use some arm strength when your turning the nipple so that the flathead doesn't slip out.

You can't properly tension a wheelset using that method, but no, it was not directed at you. To put my comment in simpler terms, a spoke wrench is no different than a top of the line BMX bike. Useless in the hands of a moron, but incredibly effective when used by someone that knows what they're doing.

Dude, get a f'n spoke wrench for a few bucks then learn how to true your rims and stop whining like a pu$$y. If you have enough brains to type, you can follow some simple instructions on how to true your wheels and use a spoke wrench. It will take you about 2 minutes to fix your rim and be on your way.

If you ever call your bike your 'pimp mobile' again, I will kick you ass though. The only time your bike will be a pimp mobile is when a pimp beats the crap out of you for being a tard, then steals your bike.
